What time of year can I have my asphalt sealed?

Sealcoating is an excellent way to protect your asphalt, but it can only be done under the proper weather conditions. Here in Canada, that means summer. Sealant requires both a pavement temperature and an ambient temperature of 10 C or higher. This allows the binder particles within the sealant to create a uniform, continuous film across the asphalt surface. UV light is also an important part of the drying process, so sealant must be applied during daylight hours, preferably in the morning.
