Sealing asphalt at night is never recommended, for two main reasons. First, sealant needs to cure in the sun’s UV rays. This hardens the sealant, extending its useful life. In addition, humidity tends to be higher at night, as you can see from the morning dew. The dampness interferes with hardening, causing premature wear. In fact, lab tests show that sealant applied at night can wear out 3 times faster than sealant applied on a bright, sunny day.
